Michael (or “Mike”) Trott is a respected and accomplished international security professional with over 30 years of combined military, government, corporate and private sector experience with sound operational judgment and demonstrated management and leadership skills. He has served in various positions including President, Vice President, Director and Advisor for corporations, companies and private entities. During his career, he has traveled to over 90 countries and lived abroad for more than 10 years and has cultivated an extensive international network of professional associates in diverse business sectors.
Currently, he serves as Vice President and corporate head of global safety and security for a preeminent developer of international private residential club communities, consisting of members and owners that are part of an exclusive group for which security and privacy are among their highest priorities. His direct efforts, focus, and leadership are to ensure their communities reach and maintain these required expectations by their members through various programs, methodologies and oversight.
As a senior embedded advisor and project manager for a multi-million-dollar Personal Security Initiative for a key U.S. Middle East ally, Mr. Trott provided program leadership regarding personal protection and protective intelligence matters. He also provided Subject Matter Expert counsel on matters relating to VVIP security for the design structure of several new cultural centers in Abu Dhabi (i.e., Zayed National Museum and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Museum).
He served as the Director of Security for an extreme-high-net-wealth founder of a Fortune 100 Bay Area technology company and his family. He was responsible for design, recruitment, and implementation of all aspects of security for multiple residences (e.g., aviation, maritime, protective intelligence, international travel security and matters of close protection).
As a Senior Security Advisor for an Austin, Texas-based technology corporation, he provided executive protection to two high-net-wealth CEOs and their families, including the company’s founder. He advised and managed their respective security during domestic and international travel, public appearances and liaised with corporate, government and private intelligence providers on matters of protective intelligence.
Mr. Trott began his career as a Security Specialist in the United States Air Force, serving six of his 10 years in Europe as a member of a select protective operations team and assigned to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (OSI), providing close protection to three Generals under high terrorism threat conditions and during the periods of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. While in Europe, he also operated as a special weapons and tactics instructor, team leader and field supervisor for an operational 15-man tactical unit and conducted bilateral training and joint operations with the German police and military Special Operation units.
After his time in the Air Force, he continued his security career with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) as Special Agent and Assistant Team Leader, serving on the protective security detail for CIA Director, George Tenet (and several deputy directors) for many years. Concurrently, he supported the Agency’s clandestine efforts to provide critical low-profile protection in various overseas locations in extreme high-threat conditions with the Protective Operations Cadre (POC). He concluded his tenure supporting other Agency directorates.
Education:
Mr. Trott is a graduate of the U.S. Federal Law Enforcement Academy and holds degrees in Police Administration/Military Science and Instructor Technology from the Community College of the Air Force and the University of Maryland.
